When you’re working with any antiques, there’s always a little tedium even if that antique is made of steel…there’s even more tedium with trying to perfectly match a handmade piece of metalwork. This was the game on this project! Hitch parts from an antique John Deere tractor needed to be carefully cleaned and sandblasted, and an existing bracket, that had subtle curves and imperfections, needed to be replicated as closely as possible.
Once all of the metalwork was completed, the easy part was throwing on the traditional tractor green, but this time in a powder coat instead of paint, to make sure this metal will last for many years to come.
